The driving force of OCIA is that you may know Jesus Christ, which is the cry of the Savior’s own heart the night before His Passion: “And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent” (John 17:3). In other words, opening up to the life-giving presence of Jesus Christ, here and now, is why we are here for you. Receiving sanctifying grace from Jesus Christ unleashes a transformative process within you that ultimately leads to being face-to-face with Him in heaven. All that you receive through accompaniment, discernment, and formation comes to life in the rituals which make a person a member of the Catholic Church. For those coming from a non-Christian background, this will mean receiving the baptism of the Church, perhaps at the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday. For those who are baptized Christians, when and how they enter the Catholic Church will be discerned by our team according to individual needs. Either way, wherever you come from, whoever you are, the Church’s sacraments bring your life into unity with the Church, the Body of Christ, as you are made one with Him, so that “God may be all in all” (1 Cor 15:28).
